Why a PWA (Progressive Web App)?

We want to provide you with the best possible experience as you read your books, fan fictions, and web comics. To support this goal, we've chosen to develop Booktower as a Progressive Web App (PWA) rather than a traditional native app.

Greater Creative Freedom

By choosing a PWA, we have greater freedom to build an application that has the features our users want and matches the style and tone that they're familiar with.

Unrestricted Content

We believe our users should be free to express their interests and creativity. By choosing a PWA, we have fewer restrictions on our content which allows us to support a broader range of books, fan fictions, and web comics.

When Booktower releases a premium subscription, we won't have to give 30% of the revenue to an app store. This allows us to keep our subscription affordable and also means that when you sign up for a premium subscription you're supporting us directly, not massive corporations.

Simplified Maintenance

Booktower is run and funded by a small, passionate team. PWAs are easier and less costly to maintain when compared to native apps.
